The Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea is an Italian ministry established in 1981. The ministry is responsible for environmental issues in Italy: protection of ecosystem and marine resources, pollution, natural areas etc.
The Ministry is also in charge of the environmental impact assessment (EIA), the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and the integrated environmental authorization (IPPC). It has also expertise in protecting the soil from desertification as well as the geological heritage conservation.
The Federation of Corsican fishing is an association based in Ajaccio, whose status has been established by the national law of fisheries (1984). The Federation includes 26 associations dealing with fisheries and the protection of marine environment. It consists of 15 council members, a president and about 5,000 members.
The Federation deal with four main themes:
- fishes conservation
- establishment of a regional plan to protect marine environment and to manage fishery resources
- fight against poaching
- coordination of the 26 associations dealing with fisheries and the protection of marine environment
